Grant Park Neighborhood

Grant Park is one of Atlanta’s oldest neighborhoods and encompasses a 131 acre park that includes the Atlanta Zoo, the Cyclorama and the surrounding neighborhoods. Grant Park is characterized by rambling brick sidewalks, Victorian mansions standing shoulder to shoulder with small cottages and bungalows. You’ll find churches, schools, shopping and more, but it is a predominantly residential area, dedicated to homes and families. The neighborhood is set in rolling hills with many stunning views, the park is also an integral part of the neighborhood, offering families and other residents a place to gather and celebrate in the open air. While Grant Park is certainly an important historical neighborhood, it is far more than just a piece of the past.

An Economic Powerhouse

Grant Park, in addition to being a significant historical district is also an economic focal point for the city and a source of a large amount of tourism revenue. In addition to being an economic powerhouse, Grant Park is home to many city events, both annual and seasonal. There are concerts held in the park, as well as annual arts and crafts fairs, seasonal festivals and more. The Cyclorama is one of the tourist draws in the area, providing a unique view of the Civil War Battle of Atlanta. Zoo Atlanta, originally called Grant Park Zoo, is home to a large number of animals and attractions, bringing hundreds of visitors to the area daily. Over two million visitors each year visit Grant Park and the surrounding area, bringing with them much needed revenue that goes directly to the city of Atlanta.

A Variety of Housing

Grant Park is a beautiful neighborhood surrounding the rolling hills and ancient trees of the actual park itself. The many different types of housing in the area greatly add to the dramatic beauty and significance of the area, as well. With the wide array of housing types, there are many different options for accommodations, from apartments within Victorian mansions to single family bungalows and more. While not all of the housing in the area is historic, the vast majority of it is, and that is an added reason for the areas popularity with new residents. It provides them with a fantastic place to live and play, all while being in the heart of a truly international city, like Atlanta.
