I had lived in AMLI at North Briarcliff for a couple of years. This place turned me against apartment living. Specifically, the noise, the incompetent and unresponsive staff, and the general feeling that I was unsafe there turned me against it. It was nothing to see drug transactions, people jumping the fence from the highway, and every time you turn around there is a notice on your door advising you of a car or an apartment break-in. Don't be fooled by the front the staff in the office will put on when you go tour the place. Once you are locked into a lease, their demeanor towards you changes dramatically, especially if you have a complaint. You will be treated as if you are the problem. Also, you are effectively without a business center. The outdated computers and printers had been consistently broken despite having told management and various other staff members about the problem for over 9 months. Same goes for the fitness equipment. I used to think that it was wrong for them to give people tours of these places, knowing that these things don't work most of the time. I felt sorry for possible future tenants being mislead by such a gross misrepresentation of the community and wished I could intervene and tell them the truth about AMLI at North Briarfliff. With regard to noise, the walls and ceilings are paper thin. You are basically at the mercy of your neighbors. If you have someone who likes to play music at all times of the day and night, you're SOL because management, the staff, and the "security" will act as if you are the problem and ignore it and your complaints. Most of us work hard for our money and want to come home to peace and quiet and live in a nice place where you feel safe and the staff is friendly and competent. AMLI at North Briarcliff is not that place!
