I Just dont Know about Artist Square

One thing about artist square is that for the price, the condos are awsome. You wont be able to find any place nicer for the money. They were built to sell. The main problem has nothing to do with the building, but the crime and who they are now renting too. It seems like they are letting anyone move in now. There have been numerous break-ins, and recently an actual home invasion. The maintenance has declined. They use to clean up every week, now I haven't seen anyone for about 3 months. Very noisy neighbors. I can hear bass from like clock-work everynight at 9pm-until they get tired of it....and not just a bump, but bass to where I have turn my own tv up louder to hear it. I have tried to ignore it because there are some college students living here mixed with young professionals, so I try not to be a party pooper but it really is rediculous. The staff is very nice, but that doesn't mean your problems will get fixed. If you live on the 1st floor you should expect a serious bug problem and cigerette butts flung on you rear balcony. Dont know about the higher ups. Parking is awful and I dont think anyone knows exactly where there space is which was ok at first b4 the building started filling up with people. This is in an artsy/urban area which is cool, lots of bars and fun stuff. There is a homeless shelter around the corner which makes for a lot of bums and beggers. If you dont like being asked for a doller at least 3 times a day, this is not for you. It seemed at first this place had standards but now I think they are letting the bums move in. There are ghetto people (Im black and from the ghetto by the way) hangin in front of the building, marijuana fills the hallways, and the loud music from the neighbors cars as they pull in to park can also be a pain. All in all, its not awful, but they definitely need to bring their standards back up. I know for sure they are just letting anyone in now because I have seen at least 3 eviction notices in the past month, whereas when i lived in midtown I never saw one. Its definitely a risk, but the condos are extremely nice, and thats where they reel you in.
