Apartment Review for Gramercy At Buckhead - Atlanta, GA

Glad to be out of this place in May. 1 - Safety - I've never had any issues with breakins and I'm ground floor. I've never seen any shattered glass on car windows in the garage either. No, the gate doesn't always work but I've never felt unsafe. 2 - Parking - Probably my biggest issue. The problem was too many guests using resident spots. All of these spots were numbered already, so instead of simply assigning parking (as they said they would in several community newsletters) they decided to just mark 75% of the spots as Reserved and ask you to pay an extra $25-$45/month for it. Now, if you couldn't afford an extra $45 a month for something you probably wouldn't be living in Buckhead and I've no doubt all of the residents could afford it but it's the principle of the thing. As someone else pointed out, when someone leaves they don't open the spot to general parking. Nor do they really care if "guests" park in non-marked spots either. In all the time since they implemented this little scam I've seen one(1) car with a single --WARNING-- taped to its window. Ridiculous in the extreme. 3 - Appearance - Personally I think the place looks great. Parking deck is kind of meh, but what do you expect? 4 - Office Staff - Another major complaint. Often indifferent and seem to act like you're dragging them away from performing some kind of life saving operation if you want to pick up a package. Not interested in dealing with you unless you're signing a lease. Hours are erratic and phone support is nil. 5 - Maintenance - When I moved in my dryer would not stay on for more than 20 minutes. Placed a call, got it replaced next day. This has been my only dealing with maintenance so I can't say it's been bad. 6 - Condition of Unit - Perfectly fine. 7 - Noise Level - 3rd strike for me. If you're on an inner apartment, expect no peace on the weekends from the pool. Also the halls aren't carpeted so you hear every tromping foot or rolling luggage/wardrobe carrier for a good minute. And a drunken "WOOOOO!!!" at 4am on a Sunday reverberates through the whole complex. 8 - Overall Rating - would give it a 2/5 and not recommend. Had the whole parking situation been handled better, had they actually done what they said they would about things like noise, "guest" parking and maybe honored the hours printed for the front office, it might be higher. As of right now I think the place is definitely not worth the price, despite the great location.
