Forgot the stars- same review as before. First the positive, yes there is actually one. I will give the place credit for the landscaping. It's open, lots of green space, bottom line it looks nice. That's it though. 1) I'll let the picture of the trash outside the compactor speak for itself. 2) The gates. They break ALL the time. The longest it has been working in the 2 years I've been here is 4 weeks. And when it does break, it takes 2 months to fix. Its not all the apartment faults though. 1 out of every three visitor cars bypasses the visitor gate to follow a resident in when then they use the card. And its not exactly safe to drive through slowly so they at least have the gate arm drop on their car. I've seen 2 arguments erupt b/c of that. 3) Noise of neighbors is a HUGE problem. If you head into town on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday its not a problem but get ready for apartment parties if you prefer to stay in on ANY of those days, you know if you actually have to work! No choice here, all 4 nights in town or all 4 nights dealing with drunk parties until 4AM. 4) If you love the sound of dirt bikes on a Saturday or Sunday this is the place for you. Revving, running up and down the street for hours on end...what fun for those that want just a little piece of quiet, every now and then. 5) Like a previous poster mentioned. The cable isn't free. My rent went up by $47 in the middle of my lease, no grandfather clause or anything - nickle and dimed all the way. 6) Robberies - it may be the best place within a couple of miles (not saying much at all) but robberies are a problem. In the last year numerous cars have been broken into and at least one apartment has been broken into. And that gets 1 general "safety notice" from the apartment complex. Funny how it came right after the gate broke AGAIN! 7) Water Bills. Most apartments today outsource so I can deal with a slightly higher bill but seriously $60 for a 700 sq. ft. apartment. I smell kickbacks of the "FREE CABLE" kind. 8) Parking: Don't get home past 9 PM, b/c everyone seems to have 3 friends that stay every night. I must admit that it's not surprising that Thursdays through Sundays parking is a little easier - I guess the smart residents go and stay elsewhere, given the apartment parties. 9) Hall Lights - if they're out don't ever expect them to be fixed. 2 years and repeated requests and the lights were still not fixed when I left. 10) The staff. Lets face it apartment community staff are always mediocre at bets. However these guys take the cake. Basically the residents are the enemy. They closed the pool for 6 weeks last summer just because someone broke the bottom step on one of the pool ladders. In other words they didn't have the money to fix it right away so they took it out on the residents. The note they left on the gate into the pool area to announce the "closure" was incredibly rude too. On move out they will nickel and dime you ALL the way. I was told in no uncertain terms - steam clean the carpet. I did, I cleaned the place spring cleaning style. I still got a $20 charge. When I called about it - it was for a stain on the wall. What the place doesn't prime and paint for the new resident that's going to move in!!! Nickel and dimed again! Its like they were pissed I did what is expected of a resident when they move out and had to find something to get me on. I'll pay but the attitude is the problem not the amount of money. 11) Walls and Stairs. The inside walls bordering other apartments aren't bad (I rarely heard my neighbors) but the outside walls are paper thin. And on every stair well there is at least one stair that feels like it will give way as soon as you step on it. Shoddy construction and terrible maintenance. 12) Why have pet waste bag dispensers but no bags in them' For 2 years I didn't see any bag rolls in any of the containers. I did see plenty of pet waste though! 13) Maintenance: Outside of the landscaping its non-existent - don't even waste the energy to ask. If you do ask, expect a week minimum for something to happen and another week (maybe 104 weeks if its hallway lighting) for it to be actually fixed. 14) The incidentals. A) Power - Being part of the first area off of a power station sucks. The power went out at least 4 times in the last year - no storms just California style - no reason other than demand (I'm assuming). B) Water - hope you like paying huge water bills. $50 for a 1 bedroom, $100 for a two. And according to the manager that's normal! C) Area: Not all that bad really. Loud but pretty much a drive through area, nothing special. Can you say Police State without the actual security!! End of story: Every U-Haul or Budget truck I saw for the five months before I left was for a MOVE OUT! What does that tell you. P.S. Don't believe me...wait until you see the application fees. Once you commit $200 what are the chances you will NOT move in.
