I have lived in this apartment complex for six years. The apartments were great until the Connor Group took over two years ago. The maintenance is a joke. The maintenance men have no idea what they are doing. It took six weeks to repair one of my appliances. The management of the property changes every three months. We have a new property manager every three months. The current manager we have has no people skills. She doesn’t really care about what the residents want. She is in way over her head. And it seems the once property manager here, the first manager under the Connor Group, was promoted to District Manager. She hired her friends to work here and there was a recurrent theme of one’s sexual orientation. It seems you have to like women to work at this property. Then, the District Manager got fired. Also, they are letting people rent apartments for much less then tenants, like myself, who have been here for 6 years. They do not value long-term tenants. They keep raising our rents about $70 a year while the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds is horrible. Also, there seems to be shady people they are letting rent apartments here. They would rather bring in a new tenant, with no track record here at Morningside Courts, and give them an apartment that is $150-$200 cheaper then what long term tenants are paying. Now, the water bill…that is very interesting. Our water bill is between $85-$105 a month depending whether you are in a one or two bedroom apartment. And the water bill is not based on your actual usage. The usage is based on the entire complex’s usage and then divided up based on whether you have a one or two bedroom apartment. And, apparently, the brother who owns the complex is brothers to the owner of the power company who generates the water bill. The water bill includes, water, sewer, trash, common electric, pest control charge, gate fee, and administrative fee. (The gate is hardly working. It is broken more then it is fixed) I have paid my rent on time every month for the last six years. I am moving out in February when my lease is up. If I were you I would run far, far away from this complex, The price might be nice for the apartment, however, the maintenance is horrible, the property management has no interest in making the residents happy, and the complex is allowing shady people to rent apartments. I assume they are not running credit checks. There are a number of vacancies and that can only mean one thing—this place sucks.
